ACPE Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP) Training
Level 2, 15 hours by Zoom beginning May 30, 2026

Why:    Recent research demonstrates the importance of recognizing and working with spiritual issues that clients inevitably bring to psychotherapy, yet many psychotherapists do not have the training and confidence to deal with spiritual or religious issues without promoting or imposing their own beliefs and values.

What:  ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education, (www.acpe.edu), drawing on the wisdom of seasoned clinicians and faculty in accredited Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy degree programs, has created an in-depth 30-hour (in two 15 hour levels) training program in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP).

Who:    Licensed and pre-licensed psychotherapists, counselors, mental health/ health professionals, case managers, substance abuse counselors, etc.

Following completion of Levels 1 and 2 of basic SIP training, Individual and group consultation with SIP Trainers are available for those who wish to become SIP Certified by ACPE.

When:  Five 3-hour sessions for Level 2, May 30, June 6, 2026, an additional 3-hour course TBS between June 13 and 20

SIP Trainer: Wayne E. Gustafson, DMin, LMHC
Dr. Gustafson is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY. His career includes Prison Chaplaincy, Pastoral Psychotherapy, Interim Ministry, College Instructor in Psychology, Instructor of Pastoral Care in the New York School of Ministry (United Church of Christ), and ACPE authorized SIP Trainer.

Cost:     $400 per person for each of two levels and includes all course materials and CEUs. Register separately for each 15 hour level.
A limited number of partial scholarships available for those in need.
