DESCRIPTION:Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP) Training\nLevel 1\, 15 hours by Zoom beginning May 12\, 2023 \nWhy:    Recent research demonstrates the importance of recognizing and working with spiritual issues that clients inevitably bring to psychotherapy\, yet many psychotherapists do not have the training and confidence to deal with spiritual or religious issues without promoting or imposing their own beliefs and values. \nWhat:  ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education\, (www.acpe.edu)\, drawing on the wisdom of seasoned clinicians and faculty in accredited Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy\, has created an in-depth 30-hour (in two 15 hour levels) training program in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP).\nCo-sponsored by Crossroads of Caring\, Inc. \nWho:    Licensed and pre-licensed psychotherapists\, counselors\, mental health/ health professionals\, case managers\, substance abuse counselors\, etc. \n** Includes 15 hours of NY CEUs for LMSW\, LCSW\, LMFT\, and LMHC. NBCC hours also available. (An additional 15 hours available in Level 2) \n(Following completion of Levels 1 and 2 of basic SIP training\, Individual and group consultation with SIP Trainers are available for those who wish to become SIP Certified by ACPE.) \nWhen:  Five 3-hour sessions for Level 1\, May 12\, 13\, 20\, 2023\n(See detailed schedule below) \nSIP Trainer:\nWayne E. Gustafson\, DMin\, LMHC\nDr. Gustafson is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY. His career includes Prison Chaplaincy\, Pastoral Psychotherapy\, Interim Ministry\, College Instructor in Psychology\, and Instructor of Pastoral Care in the New York School of Ministry (United Church of Christ). \nCost:     $400 per person for each of two levels and includes all course materials and CEUs.
