SUMMARY:Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP) Training (Rescheduled)
DESCRIPTION:Up to 30 NBCC CE Credit hours May be earned for this program. Also\, 30 NY CEUs are available for LMSW\, LCSW\, LMFT\, and LMHC.\nParticipants from other locations are also welcome to register. \nThe SIP training program is a multi-disciplinary\, inter-spiritual\, multi-racial community of persons gathered for education\, connection\, and formation in the work of spiritually integrated psychotherapy. It serves licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals (i.e.\, counselors\, social workers\, marriage and family therapists\, pastoral counselors\, psychologists\, psychiatrists\, addiction specialists\, and more)\, as well as graduate students in any of those disciplines who seek to explore the ways spirituality\, religion\, and the search for meaning influence their own lives and the lives of their clients. \nThis ACPE SIP Training provides theoretical foundations and practical skills to help therapists integrate spirituality into their work in a deeply ethical way. The SIP Training consists of 10 three-hour courses and is open to licensed and pre-licensed mental health practitioners in mental health disciplines. Reading and writing novels have taught me that the road linking fiction and truth goes both ways and illuminates in both directions.  Session 1 explores my search for truth through writing Community of Promise: The Untold Story of Moses\, and Session 2\, through writing The Wisdom Weaver.  Both novels are set at the time of the Exodus and you may be surprised by the truth revealed. Gustafson\, DMin\, LMHC\nClick here for Registration\n  \nCourse Description\nParishioners frequently come to their pastors for help with particular spiritual struggles: how to recover a sense of meaning or purpose when life events have challenged their core beliefs and values; how to make difficult decisions that bring them into conflict with their personal beliefs or their religious community; how to recover when they have been harmed by a religious leader or a religious community. \nCourse Learning Objectives\nAt the conclusion of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nRecognize and describe spiritual struggles.\nIdentify spiritual struggles commonly encountered in parishioners.\nIdentify and begin using helpful strategies for addressing spiritual struggles in ethical and effective ways.\n\nThe course provides 3 hours of continuing education for authorized ministers whose associations require it. \nThis curriculum is taken from “Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy\,” a 30 hour training program for psychotherapists offered by “ACPE: The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education.” Primary authors: Russell Siler Jones\, ThD\, LPCS and Jill Snodgrass\, MDiv\, MA\, PhD.  \nThis course has been modified by Dr. Gustafson for pastoral ministry with permission. \nTechnology:\nThis course uses the platform Zoom.
